Seminars and professional training
|
|
All the participants of the Expert External Evaluation project take part in seminars and professional training to carry out evaluations successfully. Thus we can distinguish:
- an educational seminar for educational organisations that will join the project and will be external evaluated;
- professional training for expert external evaluators who will carry out expert external evaluations.
Educational seminar for educational organisations
Once selected in a call to be external evaluated by experts in adult education, each educational organisation decides which one of their employees will, together with the director, participate as the coordinator of the expert external evaluations in the organisation. At the beginning of the session, we introduce the directors and coordinators of expert external evaluations in the organisation to the principles, objectives and process of the expert external evaluation. We cover both fields of quality, as well as the criteria that will be subject to expert external evaluation and the template used to prepare a self-evaluation report in the educational organisation. The organisation then has two months to prepare a self-evaluation report.
Professional training for expert external evaluators
The participants of the Expert External Evaluator Professional Training are first introduced to the concept of expert external evaluation and familiarise themselves with the fields and criteria that are evaluated in particular year. Then a review and evaluation are done using a self-evaluation from a fictive educational organisation as a case study. This is followed by preparing appropriate questions for interviews during a visit to an educational organisation. Participants study the preparation and the visit in the educational organisation and use role-play to practise. At the end of the meeting the participants receive guidelines for preparing the final report on the expert external evaluation.
The Slovenian Institute for Adult Education has prepared the necessary instruments for the realisation of external evaluations, as well as document drafts and guidelines that help the participants carry out the expert external evaluation.
