Impression from the 2016 evaluations

In March 2016 we have announced in the e-newsletter and on this website a public call to educational organizations to participate in expert external evaluations in adult education.
The deadline for applications expired on 22nd March 2016. In 2016 the following two adult education organisations took part in expert external evaluations:
- Javni zavod Cene Štupar - Center za izobraževanje Ljubljana,
- Ljudska univerza Kranj, Center za izobraževanje in kulturo.

The first meeting of educational organizations was carried out on 23rd May 2015, where we discussed the basis, purpose and process of expert external evaluation. We discussed all content areas and quality criteria which will be subject to external evaluation. In 2016 expert external evaluation addresses three areas of quality, namely Internal system for quality assessment and development, Support to participants in their education and Development orientation of adult education organisations.
Special attention on the educational meeting was given to the guidelines for the preparation of self-assessment of the quality of educational organizations. Organizations will prepare a self-assessment of quality report until the end of June. In autumn we will carry out further training for expert external evaluators and expertly evaluate the self-assessment reports.
Highlights from the meeting with educational organizations

On 3 rd September 2016, we carried out further training for expert external evaluators which will in 2016, in cooperation with SIAE experts, carry out the expert external evaluations in two participating organizations that educate adults.
In the further training we have discussed the changes in the field of quality of adult education, reviewed the standards and criteria prepared for the expert external evaluation in 2016 and refreshed our knowledge to use the application for evaluating the organizations' self-evaluations. The training was also intended for the agreements on this year's course of expert external evaluations in selected organizations. Throughout the month, the evaluators are intensly preparing for the Octobre's visits of the participating organizations.

On 12 th and 13 th October 2016 we carried out visits to the two organizations, taking part in this year’s expert external evaluations. The purpose of the visit was to confirm the correct understanding of the self-assessment report of internal quality system and the support to participants in education. Through conversations with employees, external partners and other entities expert external evaluators obtained additional clarification and information, by which they clarified the dilemmas and arguments presented by the educational organization incorporated in the self-assessment report. The visits lasted the whole day and were important for a more objective external assessment of quality.
Visits of the groups of expert external evalvatoric were carried out:
- on Ljudska univerza Kranj, Center za izobraževanje in kulturo on 12th October 2016,
- on Javni zavod Cene Štupar - Center za izobraževanje Ljubljana on 13th October 2016.
Now, after visiting the organizations, the expert external evaluators are preparing final reports on expert external evaluations of this year's organizations.
Highlights from the visits of educational organizations

On Wednesday, 14th December 2016, we carried out an evaluation workshop on expert external evaluations in 2016.
At the workshop, together with evaluators and representatives of the evaluated organizations we discussed the experiences and the effects of expert external evaluation. Organizations were also awarded with certificates of participation in expert external evaluation of adult education in 2016.
