Impression from the 2015 evaluations

In March 2015 we have announced in the e-newsletter and on this website a public invitation for educational organizations to participate in an expert external evaluation of adult education.
The deadline for applications expired on 26th March 2015. In 2015 expert external evaluations involved three educational organizations that educate adults:
- Center za izobraževanje in kulturo Trebnje
- INVEL Inkubator za razvoj podjetništva, d.o.o., Velenje
- Ljudska univerza zavod za kulturo in izobraževanje Slovenska Bistrica

The first meeting of educational organizations was carried out on 13th May 2015, where we discussed the basis, purpose and process of expert external evaluation. We discussed all content areas and quality criteria which will be subject to external evaluation. This year expert external evaluation addresses three areas of quality, namely Internal system for quality assessment and development, Support to participants in their education and Development orientation of adult education organisations.
Special attention was given to the guidelines for the preparation of self-assessment of the quality of educational organizations. Organizations will prepare a self-assessment of quality report until the end of June. In autumn we will carry out further training for expert external evaluators and expertly evaluate the self-assessment reports.
Highlights from the meeting with educational organizations

On 3 rd September 2015, we carried out further training for expert external evaluators which will in 2015, in cooperation with SIAE experts, carry out the expert external evaluations in three organizations that educate adults.
In the further training we have discussed the innovations and changes in the field of quality of adult education, reviewed the standards and criteria prepared for the expert external evaluation in 2015 and gotten to know the new application for evaluating the organizations' self-evaluations. The training was also intended for the agreements on this year's course of expert external evaluations in selected organizations.

On 13th and 15th October 2015 we carried out visits to the three organizations, taking part in this year’s expert external evaluations. The purpose of the visit was to confirm the correct understanding of the self-assessment report of internal quality system and the support to participants in education. Through conversations with employees, external partners and other entities expert external evaluators obtained additional clarification and information, by which they clarified the dilemmas and arguments presented by the educational organization incorporated in the self-assessment report. The visits lasted the whole day and were important for a more objective external assessment of quality.
Visits of the groups of expert external evalvatoric were carried out:
- in Center za izobraževanje in kulturo Trebnje 15th October 2015,
- in INVEL Inkubator za razvoj podjetništva, d.o.o., Velenje on 13th October 2015,
- in Ljudska univerza zavod za kulturo in izobraževanje Slovenska Bistrica on 15th October 2015;
Now, after visiting the organizations, the expert external evaluators are preparing final reports on expert external evaluation of the organizations.

On Wednesday, 16th December 2015, we carried out an evaluation workshop on expert external evaluations in 2015.
At the workshop, together with evaluators and representatives of the evaluated organizations we discussed the experiences and the effects of expert external evaluation. Organizations were also awarded with certificates of participation in expert external evaluation of adult education in 2015.
