The counsellor must provide the best advice she or he can give based on her or his professional knowledge, regardless of any other circumstances.

|
The counsellor must respect the needs of the educational organisation and the plans of quality group and must do her or his work in accordance to professional quality standards. The counsellor must also be professionally neutral, regardless of any pressure from third parties not to carry out the work in accordance with these standards; regardless of any sort of prejudice the counsellor might have, any possible disagreement with certain procedures, or any other reason. Debates about quality can also trigger conflicts and division of people into groups; the counsellor must avoid getting involved into such conflicts or support a particular side; her or his opinion and advice must emanate exclusively from the counsellor’s professional knowledge in relation to the topic of the debate. The counsellor’s only criterion should be the benefit of the entire educational organisation, and not only certain groups or individuals.
