Counsellors for quality of adult education are trained in a special programme that includes educational and guidance workshops. It is 32 contact hours long and is carried out by the SIAE and some external experts.
The basic goal of this educational programme is to train staff that will perform the roles of quality counsellors in organisations, and provide guidance help during the different phases of determining, assessing and developing quality. The content of the educational programme includes studying the role of quality counsellor and ethical principles of guidance work, acquiring knowledge about the leading quality concepts in education and industry, as well as contemplation on how to introduce the fundamental principles to the management and staff of the educational organisation where they will perform the guidance activity (more about the contents of the educational programme).
Simultaneously with the educational workshops, there is group and individual counselling to individual quality counsellors regarding quality development in different organisations; likewise we counsel them regarding evaluation of achievements, and products they prepare during individual phases. Whenever questions arise during certain activities for quality development, and the quality counsellors cannot solve them on their own, they are given a possibility for individual guidance via email, telephone, or our site-visit to their educational organisation.
The participants of the training have different manuals and study materials available, as well as Internet support with different databases (see Question database for quality assessment, Web-based learning corner).
