The quality counsellors network development and important milestones
|
|
The idea about establishing a network of counsellors for quality in adult education has grown from several years of development work in the field of implementing self-evaluation into educational organisations. In practice, the need to establish the role of a quality counsellor arose: a person whose work tasks consist of professionally dealing with quality assessment and the development of an educational organisation and who is professionally qualified not only to carry out these activities, but also to counsel all the employees about the activities for quality assessment and the development of their own work.
The quality counsellor network is still in the development phase and is being formed gradually, because we want to find a solution that will fit within the existing system of adult education in Slovenia, so for now, we can emphasise the following milestones:
2006–2007: a pilot test of the quality counsellors idea in practice as a part of the project Quality Counsellors for Adult Education. Eighteen quality counsellors, who simultaneously acted in this role and developed quality development activities in their organisations, were trained in the project.
2011: the training of 14 new quality counsellors as a part of the project Education and Training of Adult Education Professionals 2009–2011.
