When implementing the OQEA model into an educational organisation, the quality groups participate in educational and guidance workshops organised by the SIAE with the help of some external partners.
The basic goal of educational workshops is to equip the members of quality groups from individual educational organisations with the knowledge necessary to coordinate processes of self-evaluation and the implementation of quality improvements. Content-wise, the programme consists of learning about self-evaluation, goals, methods, and procedures and the development of knowledge and skills for working with people who assess and develop quality in working collectives. The topics in the programme require about 80 contact hours and are divided into the first and second year of participation of individual organisation in the project.
About an equal amount of time (80 hours) is allocated to group counselling that takes the form of workshops. We counsel the members of quality groups in each phase of planning and execution of self-evaluation on how to conduct the process; we also counsel them at evaluating achievements, products they prepare in individual phases.
Additionally, we offer to individual groups, their members and the work collectives, individual guidance whenever questions arise during self-evaluation that they cannot solve by themselves. We give such guidance via e-mail or telephone or during visits to a particular educational organisation.
The organisations can help themselves by using different manuals or materials they have at their disposal during self-evaluation, as well as Internet support with various databases (see: A collection of questions for quality assessment, Web-based learning corner).
