The author studies the field of quality in education systematically and in depth. In the introduction, she presents the notion of "quality" and the diversity in understanding and defining it. Further on, she's particularly interested in the ways we have available for assessing and developing the quality of the curriculum in adult education. In her search for answers she ventures into the research of the extensive field of curricular evaluation. This is followed by an interpretative analysis of some of the best known models of curricular evaluation. Despite the polemics on (in)transferability of managerial models of quality into education, the author shows the development of the movement for quality in industry. Based on the analysis in the final chapter she forms a holistic strategy for systematic assurance and development of quality in adult education.
